Tom oversees platform development and engagement, and he is an active participant in structuring and negotiating transactions on behalf of the firm’s clients. He also advises on disruptive innovations and enjoys developing partnerships with emergent technology and service providers to drive revolutionary value for clients.
Prior to co-founding KBB, Tom worked in the Corporate Strategy group at Lazard. There, he advised senior management on strategy and operations initiatives designed to drive margin expansion and decrease operating risk, including facilitating closing of complex negotiations and restructuring global businesses. Tom has extensive experience leading implementation of these transformative initiatives, and as part of his role, he developed and monitored key performance indicators to measure and communicate the firm’s progress to senior management, the Board of Directors and shareholders.
Prior to Lazard, Tom worked at management consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton, where he delivered recommendations on organizational strategy, technology and process engineering. He also advised on the initial implementation of portions of Dodd-Frank legislation and managed the firm’s charitable microfinance lending portfolio focused on the Middle East and North Africa.
Tom graduated summa cum laude from the George Washington University, with degrees in International Affairs and Political Communication. While at university, he worked alongside senior leaders in the US government and diplomatic community, as well as at various political and media organizations.
